Today has been a wonderful, blustery day – the wind is howling and when you walk outside you’re hit with a blast of energy. I love windy weather – I just find it so fun and exciting and really very therapeutic. So don’t let the weather get you down, embrace it!
1. BLOW AWAY THE COBWEBS
Getting all that fresh air blown in your face really does release a lot of built up stress and tension. You can just let go and let the wind carry you down the street. Also when it’s this windy I feel more connected to everyone else I see, as we all are so shocked at the weather. And nothing brings British people together like weather talk!
2. DO A TITANIC
By this I mean the Jack and Rose arms in the air thing, not the ship sinking thing, to be clear. Have fun being shoved around and basically carried down the road. Embrace the wind all for the good cause of a fabulous Facebook post.
3. WRAP UP REALLY WARM
I find the great thing about a really windy day is that you can go all out with your winter wear. No umming and ahhing over whether to wear 3 jumpers, a scarf, mittens, fleece, coat and hat – you can just go for it and no one is gonna judge you for protecting yourself against the elements. I also just find it really satisfying to wrap up warm before I head out.
4. PRETEND YOU’RE IN A PHOTO SHOOT
Provided you have the right prevailing wind direction, you can work that camera. When wind flies right in your face your hair may beautifully cascade behind you in the way that only happens for disney characters – or sometimes not so much…
5. ENJOY BEING INSIDE WHILST THE STORM IS RAGING
Somewhat ironically, one of the best things about a windy day is being inside and completely protected from any harsh weather. Snuggling up with a blanket, hot chocolate and a good book can be made all the better by the harsh sounds of the wind blowing outside your window. You are safe and snug inside hooray. So next time it is a windy day – get excited!!
