LAZY PERSON’S GARLIC GUIDE

Garlic is one of the best, best ingredients out there! It adds insane flavour to pretty much everything BUT preparing it can be one hell of a fiddly, time-consuming process, and I find even with a garlic crusher it still seems an effort to me. So for all those foodies who ain’t got time to waste – here is a quick guide to what to buy and what to avoid in the ready-prepared garlic world…

BUY!

This has a lot of flavour and is really convenient to use. All the major supermarkets do own brand versions as well and you can get it in jars too, just remember to put it in the fridge once you’ve opened it!

AVOID!

These and all other brands of garlic granules are awful – they have no flavour even when you put in nearly half a jar. This would be a last resort – their only redeeming quality is that they can be stored in the cupboard, but as they taste of nothing, why would you want them to last?

BUY!

These are the cream of the crop, the best – they are real fresh garlic pieces that have been frozen, so when you put them in the pan they defrost in a second and then you actually have basically fresh garlic again. They are full of flavour and there are loads of pieces in the boxes so they last for ages too! Best buy!

So there is the lazy person’s guide to garlic, hopefully it will prove useful for garlic fanatics out there!

Lots of love,

Sunny Kitty
