Yesterday I went for lunch at giraffe and I was pleasantly surprised with the choices of what I could have. They have a lot of things that are vegan or can easily be made vegan with very little effort and I had a delicious and filling meal…
VEGGIE BRUNCH
You can make their veggie brunch vegan by simply substituting the eggs for something else like tomatoes or potato wedges for no extra cost. It’s packed with avocado, beans, sourdough and mushrooms and their veggie sausages are vegan!
TOFU AND SQUASH LAKSA
This is already 100 percent vegan and with its big slab of tasty tofu, you get a proper serving of protein, which is often hard to come by when you’re a vegan eating out.
MARRAKECH MARKET SALAD
This is full of flavour and interest with quinoa, kale and sweet potato. Then it’s scattered with refreshing pomegranate seeds and almonds. Just ask for it without the lemon honey dressing to make it vegan.
FALAFEL WITH RED PEPPER AND HARISSA HUMMUS NO-BUN BURGER
Their falafels are delicious and full of flavour. This comes with dips and a delicious and exciting salad to go with it. All you need to do is ask for it without the tzakiki (has yoghurt in it) and you can ask them to replace it with baba ganoush, which they serve on their mezze platter.
MINI MEZZE AND SIDES
Giraffe also have a lot of tasty vegan sides and starters. Their mini mezze is a particularly delicious starter with falafel, tabouleh and smokey red pepper relish. Simply ask them to swap the tzakiki for baba ganoush to make it totally vegan. Then you can get it with sides – I often go for skin-on fries and seasonal steamed vegetables, but their beer battered onion rings are also vegan and delicious!
So get yourself down to your local Giraffe and enjoy a delicious meal out!
Lots of love,
