This week’s music is all about those feel good classics that just leave you feeling all warm inside. Happy, inspirational songs that make you glad to be alive and looking forward to tomorrow. The sun is shining – it’s a good life…

SINGLE OF THE WEEK: BRAVE – SARA BAREILLES

This song is wonderful from start to finish. Empowerment and fearless expression of yourself and who you are is everything in this song. Forget about hate and be yourself! With its fabulous piano and bouncy string accompaniment, along with inspirational lyrics, you just want to jump with joy!

ALBUM OF THE WEEK: UNWRITTEN – NATASHA BEDINGFIELD

This album is a beautiful, british gem – its got soul, power and her wonderful outlook on life to top it off. The title’s namesake Unwritten is without a doubt one of my favourite songs that never fails to life my mood. Such a great song about hope and enjoying and living your life. Beautiful guitar sounds and lyrics and when the choir and clapping gets going at the end – you want to clap too!

Then you get I’m a Bomb which brings her feisty, girl power sound. This song has an amazing, funky bass that gets you going – and her harmonies bring a really dangerous and edgy sound to the whole song.

But then she shows her range and surprises you get again with I Bruise Easily – a bare and exposed ballad, highlighting people’s vulnerability and fragility. Her voice carries you through the song -and the piano and strings are beautiful.

Then last but not least we get an example of her amazing lyrics in These Words where her songwriting genius come across. Awesome rhymes – that really bring you into the world of a struggling artist going for a simple message of love.

So this album in a nut shell is about expression, love and happiness and only makes me feel good things whenever I hear it!

RUNNER UP SINGLE: MY KIND OF TOWN – FRANK SINATRA

This is just Sinatra at his finest. His beautiful tone!!!! He sings every word and note with conviction – and slides beautifully between the notes. The big band accompaniments are everything – you just want to get up and prance around your home and dance! Amazing!

COVER OF THE WEEK: RUNAWAY BABY – CARLY ROSE SONENCLAR (BRUNO MARS COVER)

She really is an amazing singer for her age – a great tone and precision. I like the way she gives this song a really jazzy sound – even more than it has already. Then the guitar comes in and it just picks it up!
