Review: Vegan at Nandos

I went for lunch at Nandos today – turns out you can get some decent vegan fare there and for a very reasonable price too:

For starters:

HOUMOUS WITH PERI-PERI DRIZZLE

Delicious and creamy houmous, served with lots of pieces of pitta to dunk in.

SPICY MIXED OLIVES

Always a great choice and these are wonderfully marinated!

For mains:

QUINOA SALAD OR MEDITERRANEAN SALAD

Simply replace the feta with avocado for free when you go up and order. These salads are really fresh and filling – definitely my go-to when in Nandos.

PORTABELLO (NO HALLOUMI) PITTA

Simply replace the halloumi with houmous or avocado. A good choice for when you just want some bread in your meal.

For sides:

GARLIC BREAD

Their garlic bread is vegan!!!! Sorry, I’ll just let that sink in. Their garlic bread is 100 percent vegan and oh so tasty.

CHARGRILLED VEG

Tasty roasted peppers, onions and courgette in tomato sauce. Tasty as a side or spooned over your pitta or on top of garlic bread.

CHIPS

These are okay for vegans and delicious with some tomato ketchup.

n.b. They do have a passion fruit sorbet for pudding, but I would definitely say they are better for savoury vegan food, as with most chain restaurants.

Pick any combo that sounds great to you and get down to your local, for a cheeky nandos!

  1. I would never think that Nandos would have vegan offerings. That’s so cool!
